It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Orest Taras Dackow (Castle Rock, Colorado), who passed away on January 19, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Florence Waples (Flossy); and his parents, Luk and Irene. He is survived by: his children, Trevor Wade Dackow of Morris, Heather Lynn Dackow of Parker, Colorado, Donna and Manitoba (Belinda); his granddaughter Donna of Tampa; his sister Cecila Wetsch of Estevan; his niece Lori Veroba; his nephew David Wetsch (Aimee); his brother James Dackow of Regina; and his children, Darin and Dana.
He missed the last two summer sailing seasons due to Covid restrictions and his courageous fight with cancer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Orest T. Dackow Scholarship at the University of Manitoba. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice in his name.
