He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward T. Slagle and Bertha L. Slagle (Stone); his son Jeffery Scott Slagle; and his nephew Greg Jones. He is survived by: his wife Zella M. Slagle; his children, John Jr. (Kari), Greg (Elizabeth), Susan Teresi (David) and Laurie Buzard; his sisters, Rosemary Jones, Dorothy Bradley and Jeannine Bailey; and his close friend Warren Lauck. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; one great granddaughter.
