She was predeceased by: her brother Anthony Smoody. She is survived by: her husband Lyle; her daughters, Lynne Justice (Daniels) and Caryn Kabis (Daniels); her son-in-law David Friesen; her grandson Nicholas Justice; her great grandchildren, Aleiyah and Payson; her sister Lucille Lytis (Lewner); her nieces and nephews, Ricky Lewner, Rhonda Kemens (Lewner), Patti Steffens (Bruce Steffens), Anthony Smoody Jr. and Carol Workman (Smoody); and also Rob Workman.
In lieu of sending flowers, Joan requested donations be made in her name to the: American Cancer Society (Breast Cancer) and/or the American Diabetes Association.
