It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Arthur Vandaveer II in Castle Rock, Colorado, who passed away on July 15, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Joseph Vandaveer and Julia Agnes Vandaveer; his wife Lynne Vandaveer (Virginia); his brother Mark Vandaveer (Sandi); his children, Jeff (Ellen), Amy, Douglas Novak of Woodland Park, Michael and Sarah Vandaveer of Castle Rock; and also, Brady Novak, James, Julia, Jacob, Anna, Madilyn and Jonathon Vandaveer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, a non-profit organization Art donated to that is dedicated to serving our nation's heroes: https://t2t.org.

He took Ed Harry & me to chase rabbits behind the elementary school when we were 16! He was best man in Ann & Ron’s wedding. We will miss him terribly! Hang to your faith!
