With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Henry F. Chavez of Canon City, Colorado, born in Los Angeles, California, who passed away on January 25, 2022 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Henry F. Chavez to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Chavez and Francisca Chavez (Lujan); and his stepson Mark Barry. He is survived by: his former spouse Beverly Jean Cooksey; his wife Peg Barry; his sister Sister Jeanmarie Chavez; his children, Carmen McDermott (Steve), Julie Navarro (Leo), Barbara Ozaeta, Robert Chavez (Ana) and Karen Gentzler (Gordon); his stepson John Barry (Mary); and his stepdaughter-in-law Brandy Barry. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Canon City Volunteer Fire Department at 1475 15th St., Canon City, Colorado 81212.
