Born on a warm September day in 1997 in San Diego, California, Chris was a beacon of joy, born to Paul Saito Kahler and Michelle Mesa. He grew up in the tight-knit community of Fountain, Colorado, where he would later leave an indelible mark.
From a young age, Chris displayed an uncanny knack for understanding electronics. His hands-on curiosity and technical savvy led him to pursue a path in the Advanced Electronics Computer Field, where he flourished as an Electronics Technician. Known as "MacGyver" to friends and colleagues, he had a miraculous ability to transform everyday objects into solutions for complex problems. Chris's creative brilliance wasn't confined to his professional life alone; it was a testament to his approach to every facet of existence.
High school brought Chris the gift of lifelong companionship when he met the love of his life, Maggie Kahler. Their love story, which began at Mesa Ridge High School, culminated in a beautiful union on May 9, 2022. Their journey was a reflection of Chris's boundless heart—always extending kindness, laughter, and care to everyone he encountered.
Chris's commitment to uplifting others was echoed in his military service in the Navy. Enlisting with an unyielding determination to serve his country, Chris became a beacon of camaraderie, humor, and dedication within his unit. A natural leader, he earned the esteemed role of class leader, guiding his peers with a blend of charisma and genuine concern. Beyond his military accolades, Chris was a friend to all, forging connections that transcended the barriers of rank or duty.
Away from his professional pursuits, Chris reveled in the virtual world of video games. His skill and passion were unmatched, earning him a reputation as an unstoppable force in the gaming community. Yet, his devotion to gaming wasn't rooted solely in competition—it was a platform for building friendships and connections that transcended geographical boundaries.
July 28, 2023, marked the heart-wrenching day when Chris left us, departing from this world in Huntington Beach, California. The loss of such a radiant soul is immeasurable. A funeral service, marked by full Military Honors, will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 12:00 PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery. Gathering at 11:30 AM, friends and family will unite to bid a tearful farewell to a cherished son, husband, brother, and friend.
Following the service, a reception will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Cheyenne Mountain VFW Post 3917, offering a chance for loved ones to share stories, find solace, and celebrate the life of a young man whose impact far exceeded his years.
