He was predeceased by: his mother Emma Wilhelmina Simmons; his uncle Reverend Harry Meyer; his father Albert Simmons; his siblings, June Eberle, Vi Searle and Albert "Lefty" Simmons; his son Larry Simmons; and his son-in-law Greg James.
He is survived by: his children, Lawrence Albert, Dawn Michelle of Burlington and Stephen Robert; his wife Joyce Simmons; his son Steve Simmons (Lynn) of Chadron, Nebraska.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Quintana (Mike), Grant James (Alissa), Brian James (Kelly), Kelly Simmons, Andrea Simmons, Denver of Colorado and Theresa Simmons (Brian Stearman); and his great grandchildren, Tyler, Elena, Logan, Avrie, Ella, Reagan, Beau, Austin and Nora.
