He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Peterson and Mollie Peterson (Scott); his wife Arvella; and his siblings, Earl and Betty.
He is survived by: his sister Nadine Holder of Larkspur Colorado; his children, Gregory Peterson of Lindon and Rick Peterson of Rapid City; and his grandchildren, Jessica Paquelier of Carmel Valley, Molly Brown of Aurora, Meagan Washburn of Aurora and Melissa Peterson of Denver, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that those wishing to do so may contribute to Wounded Warriors in Varlens name, c/o Heer Mortuary.
