He is survived by: his wife Donna Rose Hughston; his siblings, Wendy Coughlin and Wayne Chirnside; his nephew Brian Coughlin; and his niece Beth Hornbeck.

Donations to honor Bill should be contributed to the Colorado School of Mines Museum of Earth Science.
