He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Rand; his son Stephen; his daughter-in-law Suzanne Newman Bales of Arvada, CO; his daughters, Sarah Bales of Hanoi, Vietnam and Amy Bales Crain; his grandsons, Joe, Thomas, Spencer, Viet, Parker, Drew and Ian; his son Bob; and also Sylvia Bales.
