He was predeceased by: his parents, Enrico Passerella and Angelina Granato Passerella. He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his children, Marsha Rehfeld (Dave) and Brian Passerella (Nicki); his grandchildren, Nathan Rehfeld and Caitlin Rehfeld; his stepgrandchildren, Eddie Ellis and Jaime Ellis; his sister Carol Highland; and his nieces, Stacy Highland and Carissa Hollander.
After retirement, Rick and Nancy kept traveling until the diagnosis of Alzheimer's changed his life and his family's forever, when they were no longer able to travel.
