She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Walter Ballou and Agnes Makoski; her sisters, Rose Marie and Allene; her husband Raymond Petla; her children, Rose Mary, Jeff, Rita and David; her stepson Dan; and her grandchildren, Josh, Justin, Jordan Sorrentino, Jessica Trimble and Darren Petla.

She had suffered from increasing memory loss due to Alzheimer's.

Kathleen was born June 28, 1930 to Walter Ballou and Agnes Makoski in Little Rock, Arkansas.
