He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Mae Batten (Stone); and his sister Patricia May Wiley (Batten). He is survived by: his parents, Frank Arthur and Elizabeth May Batten (Dimmock); his children, Lawrence G. Batten (Elaine) of Broomfield and Catherine B. Balk (Steven) of Elmhurst; and his grandchildren, Michelle M. Balk, Laura B. Gusse (Ben), Amanda E. Witt (Anthony), Christopher C. Batten and Ryan M. Batten (Danielle Simler).
