It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Jean Sauerland (Broomfield, Colorado), born in Tower City, North Dakota, who passed away on November 12, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Swanke and Irma Swanke; her sister Marcella Richman; and her daughter-in-law Von Fumetti. She is survived by: her children, David Hornbacher and Debbie Grieco (Mike); her husband Carl Sauerland; her grandchildren, Paige Pier (Colt) and Sean Hornbacher; her great grandchild Xander Pier; her stepchildren, Debrah, Diana and Dana; and her brothers, Wayne Swanke (Stephanie), Jim Swanke (Peggy) and Will Swanke.
During the Covid pandemic she made masks, blankets, fidget blankets for high-risk elderly adults.
