He was predeceased by: his wife Violet Armstrong; and his son Steven. He is survived by: his children, Michael (Nancy), Paul (Laura), Ginnie (John) and Laurie (Jay); and his grandchildren, Michelle Dykstra-Caskey, Scott Dykstra, Erin Ball, Tony Dykstra, Tammy Rohlman, Kevin Dykstra, Melissa Kopycinski, John Nixon, Jason Brandsma, Andrew Brandsma and Alexandria Nixon. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to American Legion – Post 11-11 or to Veterans of Foreign Wars – Post 4171.
