He was predeceased by: his parents, Bungo Horiuchi and Shigeko Gonmori; and his siblings, Seiji, Shogo, Takenobu, Hideharu, Mitsu, Hisa and Yayeko.

He is survived by: his wife Aiko (Shirley); his sons, Gary (Shirley), Kirk and Rich (Cathy); and his brother Eigoro (Kumi). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
