He was predeceased by: his parents, Chuck Auer and Fran Auer; and his brother Troy. He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his sons, Justin and Aaron; his brother Steve (Jody); and his sister-in-law Cerise. He is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews.
