He is survived by: his wife Sheila; his siblings, Colette Canevello (Ivan) of Velva, ND, Bobbie Linrud (Lyle) of Velva, ND, Nick Schmit of Minot, ND, Stan Schmit (Roene) of Minneapolis, MN, Julee Galvin (John) of Virden, MB and Joe Schmit (Cris) of Minot, ND; his children, Robert Schmit (Stacey) of Denver, CO, Thaddeus Schmit (Chris) of Rapid City, SD, Dennis Griffee Jr. of Watertown, WI, Melissa Griffee of Brighton, CO and Holly Voiles (Mittsy) of Farmington, WI; and his grandchildren, Justice, Zeke, Xander, Tate, Dennis III and Odin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
