He was predeceased by: his parents, Valdomero Serna and Fidela Hernandez; his wife Carmen; his siblings, Jose, Julian, Balta, Panchita, Inez, Gregorio and Hilario; and his grandsons, David Robles and Ernest W. Serna.
He is survived by: his children, Guadalupe Robles (late Juan), Guillermo Serna (late Raquel), Fernando Serna (Connie), Juan Antonio Serna, Rosie Serna and Irasema Macias Gonzalez. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren along with many nephews and nieces.
