He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis C. Sowell and Jean Markel Sowell; and his son John Sowell. He is survived by: his sister Ann; his significant other Ann Krutilla; his children, Margaret Sowell Norton (Peggy), Lewis C. Sowell, III and Mary Kate Schibler; and his grandchildren, Jennifer Hurst DiRosa, Lewis C. Sowell, IV, Derek, Brian, Rachel, Jason and Kyle Schibler. He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church (3700 Baseline Rd, Boulder, CO 80303).
