Kent D. Kettering Obituary
Biography: Kent was born in Boulder, Colorado in 1948 to Donald and Betty Kettering. He grew up in Boulder and graduated from Fairview High School in 1966 and was then drafted into the Army in 1969. In June of 1969 he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann (Lenihan) Kettering, who he was married to for 54 years until his passing.
After serving in the Army, he returned to Boulder and worked for numerous local companies to include King Soopers, Western Disposal, and Home Depot. He was also a gifted auto body professional who had a personal business doing paint and bodywork on cars for many years. He had a lifelong love for cars and participated in hundreds of car shows throughout his life. Kent also enjoyed numerous other hobbies to include waterskiing, bowling, listening to classic oldies / rock and roll music, going to Colorado Buffaloes football games, country dancing, watching sports, fishing with his grandkids and friends, playing cards, and spending time with his family and many friends.
Kent was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a man's man…tough, strong, and rough around the edges, yet still kind, compassionate, caring, and fiercely loyal to his friends and family. He was the kind of guy you could always count on and would give you the shirt off his back if you asked him. He had a great work ethic and worked hard at whatever he did. Yet, still lived life to the fullest and loved spending time with people. He found joy in so many things and could make everyone laugh with his endless stories and jokes. He could do a great Donald Duck impression that made hundreds of kids and adults cry laughing with it. Above all, Kent loved God, his family, his friends, and America. He was very patriotic and was a proud Veteran.
We were all blessed to have him in our lives and we will treasure all of the wonderful memories of him. We will miss him everyday until we all meet again in heaven.
