She was predeceased by: her parents, Dora Bernal (Atencio) and Perfecto Bernal; her husband Abe Maestas; her daughters, Veronica Maestas and Valerie Maestas; and her brothers, Dave Bernal and Albert Bernal.

She is survived by: her daughter Victoria Bernal-Burns; her siblings, Anita Bernal, Sandy Cox-Bernal and Rueben Bernal; and her pet Melody Maestas.
