It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gernot Klaube (Boulder, Colorado), who passed away on April 30, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Gernot Klaube to show support.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm Klaube and Anna Louisa Klaube; and his wife Gloria Klaube. He is survived by: his daughter Anna Klaube; his sons-in-law, Rich Hackett and Ron Taylor; his grandchildren, Kyle Taylor, Chrissy Nolting and Austin Hackett-Klaube; his sisters, Annaliese and Brigitte; and his siblings-in-law, Toni Lovato, Liz Candelaria and Jake Griego of Albuquerque. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 a celebration of life will be held this summer but in the meantime, the next time you run, bike or ski, dedicate your day to him.
Mike's final gift was a brain bank donation to the University of Boston's Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center for research to further prevent CTE in athletes. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the Concussion Legacy Foundation at 361 Newbury St. 5th Floor Boston MA. 02115 or concussionfoundation.org.
