It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Ferguson King (Boulder, Colorado), born in Schaller, Iowa, who passed away on May 8, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Loyal King and Sadie King; and his wife Ellie Rogers. He is survived by: his children, Ketha Boespflug (George), David King, Andy Clayton-King (Lindsey) and Nancy Peterson (Steve). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

“Don and Ellie were seatmates of mine at Mackey for Boulder Philharmonic concerts for many years. We had many lively conversations before the concerts and at intermission over the years until a few years ago when they decided that it was getting too difficult and risky to come to the concerts, especially in winter months. I recall Don telling us of some of his more memorable international flights for United and Ellie was a charming conversationalist herself. My condolences to the family.”
