He is survived by: his wife Renee Skipper Nelson; his parents, Lindsay Rudolph Nelson and Mary Alice Nelson (Mangum); his daughter Heather Nelson; his son-in-law Travis Pandiani; his grandson Braxton Pandiani; his brothers, Jay Nelson and Rudy Nelson; his mother-in-law Mary; his siblings-in-law, Robin E Skipper (Debbie) and Rhonda S Perry (Tony); and his nieces and nephews, Krista Holder (Zach), Samantha Nelson, Anthony Perry (Amy), Austin Perry (Courtney), Jeanne-Marie Bolin (Richard), Abigail Perry (Brian Pugliese) and Jessica Quarles (Trey).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to New Life Church, P.O. Box 2154, Georgetown, SC 29442.
