He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Mason and Evelyn Mason (Decker); his son John G. Mason; and his half-brother Rick Hayden. He is survived by: his wife Marian Alice O'Neal (Punkie); his daughter Pam Hiller (Jim) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; his grandchildren, Shana (Justin), Nick (Calitta), Eric, Luke and Christina; his stepgrandson Keegan; and his pet Rex. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
