He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd A. Piland and Elma I. Piland. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Craig Piland (Diane), Carl Sondburg (Stacy), Natalie Nielson (Greg), Paula Shapiro and Tobi Placenti (Frank); his grandchildren, Zach Nielson, Kaylen Webber, Taylor Decell, Benjamin, Madison Shapiro, Michael, Izzi Placenti and Lexi Sondburg; his great grandchild Knox Decell; and his siblings, Lowell Piland and Marilyn Cronk.
