Loren E. Sorber Obituary

Loren E Sorber, 78, of Bennett, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, August 05, 2023 in his home.

Loren was born in Boone, IA to Edwin and Pearl Sorber on June 8, 1945. He went to high school in Dayton, IA and then joined the military, serving two tours ending with Viet Nam. Loren was a civil engineer and worked for Elsinore Water District for 25 years. In retirement he took up farming, raising cattle, and enjoyed travelling and camping. He was involved in the Elks, VFW, Pheasants Forever. He converted to Catholicism in 2011 and was very active in his church, Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Loren is survived by his spouse, Zoe Ann Sorber of Bennett, CO; children, Richard and Jeremiah Holland; siblings, Velma, Judi, Mylin, Vernon, and Phyllis; grandchildren Emily, Ann, and Ronan. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Norman, Harlan, and Marvin.

Funeral service will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Aurora, on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Mount View Cemetery, Bennett, CO. A Vigil (Visitation) will be held at Queen of Peace, Aurora, Sunday, August 13, 2023 starting at 9:00 PM.

Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
