He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph A. Unrein and Angela Unrein (Werth); his wife Rose Unrein; his son Eric Unrein; his son-in-law Scott Franklin; and his siblings, Eddie, Marcellus, Victor, Alfred, Alvin, Richard, Virgil, Henrietta Ruder, Dolores Giebler and Lavora Jacobs.
He is survived by: his grandson Elmer; his children, Neil Unrein (Susan) of Gorham, KS, Dean Unrein of Gorham, KS and Allisa Franklin of Strasburg, CO; his siblings, Norman Unrein (Deborah) of Portland, OR and Eleanor Unrein-Taylor of Wichita, KS; his sisters-in-law, Isabelle Schuckman of Aurora, CO, Carol Moeder of Arvada, CO, Helen Unrein of Fountain Valley, CA, Georgia Unrein of Kearney, NE and Clairella Jacobs of Hays, KS.; and his grandchildren, Andrew Unrein, Adam Unrein, Ashley Lara, Rick Unrein, John Unrein-Darbonne, Tiffani Duffy, Lauren Hill, Kaleb Unrein Diedrich of Katie Franklin, T. J, Alaina Franklin, Sarah Riley, Joni Nicks, Talia Wilson and Amber Evans. He is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren and nearly 100 nieces and nephews.
