He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Barreras and Carlota Barreras; and his siblings, Lucy Roybal, Rosie Duran, Raymond Barreras, Lee Barreras and Jimmy Barreras.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Gonzales (John), Sandy Vigil, Charlotte Santisteven (Ray), Daniel Barreras, Kenneth Barreras and Bill Gallegos (Linda); and his brothers, Tony Barreras and Sam Barreras (Connie). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
