He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wirth and Dorothy Wirth; and his in-laws, Lawrence and Alice Primavera. He is survived by: his wife Alice; his daughters, Candice Wirth-Kleinbub and Jessica Wirth-Forster; his sons-in-law, Joseph Kleinbub and Joseph Forster; his grandchildren, Justin Forster, Arianna Forster, Jaxson Forster, Gabriel Kleinbub and Lukas Kleinbub; and his siblings, Darlene Pope, Kenneth and Charles Lustig.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Horan & McConaty Funeral Service and Cremation - Northwest (7577 W 80th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, Donald requested that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, causes close to his heart.
