He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed M. Rarick and Ida Rarick (Eberle); his siblings, John, Newell, Mary Rarick, Ellen Carlson and Lois Bean; his nephews, Guy Richard Carlson and Terry Rarick; and his wife Shirley.
He is survived by: his children, Sherri Smithburg (Jim), Christy Smithburg (Lyle) and Ed Rarick (Jodi); his grandchildren, Aubrey Jones (Ryan), Jon Smithburg (Sarah), Nick Smithburg (Ashlee), Steph Scherr (Steve), Charles Cassidy Rarick (Kya Muraira) and Cody Rarick; his great grandchildren, Noah, Micah, Selah, Nehemiah Scherr, Ava Jones, Michayla, Jordan Smithburg, Faxon and Sutton Smithburg; and his sister-in-law Eleanor Arbuthnot.
