It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Barela of Antonito, Colorado, born in Fort Carson, Colorado, who passed away on March 8, 2023, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Miguel Barela; his father Mario Barela; his siblings, Joseph, Pedro and Angelica Barela; his grandparents, Teofilo, Victoria Barela, Mike and Rose Archuleta; his niece Jadyn Quintana; and his great-niece Shaliah Guodace.
He is survived by: his mother Dorothy Barela; his grandchildren, Isaac and Brenda Candelaria-Barela; his siblings, Mario Jr. Barela (Tammy), Renae Chavez (Adrian), Lucinda Barela (Buddy Romero), Wendy Barela-Sierra (Jerry) and Ella Mae Quintana (Lee); and his godson Randall Romero.
