She was predeceased by: her parents, George Burris and Helen White; her brothers, Kenneth Burris of Alamosa and Samuel Burris of Alamosa; her former husband Jim Cavaliere; and her husband Jameel Joseph.

She is survived by: her daughter Suzan Gonzales of Alamosa; her grandchildren, JJ Gonzales (Monica Ortega) of Farmington, N. M. and Natalie Mondragon (Lawrence) of Alamosa; her great grandchildren, Greyson Hirz and Sophia Mondragon; and her sister Phyillis Worden of Cheyenne, WY. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
