He was predeceased by: his parent Tobias "Toby" Eugenio Herrera; and his grandparents, Fortunato, Sobedia Herrera, Jose Sabino Gutierrez and Maria Juanita Pacheco Gutierrez.

He is survived by: his mother Louisa "Louise" Loyla Gutierrez Herrera of Alamosa; his siblings, Toby Herrera of Alamosa, Ned (Betty Herrera) of Alamosa and Amy Montoya (Priscilla Moncivaiz) of Antonito, Colorado.; his nephew Jeffery Montoya (Jordan Morgan) of Lompoc California; his niece Juanita Pino (Steven) of Alamosa; and his great-nieces, Lawliet Montoya, Lyric and Lydia Morgan.
