He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Vanesa, Danica, Delaney, Destin and Achates Amber Cortez; his parents, Becky Mondragon (Nimon Malouff) and Jake Sandoval; his siblings, Ryan Sandoval, Eric Mondragon and Heather Sandoval (Ryan Tolbert); his nieces, Alysa, Kylie and Embry; and his nephew Conner.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made towards a fund set up for his children at the San Luis Valley Federal Bank.
