She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Earl and Mary Ethel Slingerland (Decker); her brothers, Earl and Carl; and her spouse Gail Owsley.

She is survived by: her children, Charles (Linda) of Del Norte, Barbara (John) of Monte Vista, Mark (Reinie) of Alamosa and Sue Ann (Denny) of Alamosa; and her grandchildren, Megan (Ricardo), Nicholas (Brittany), Daniel (Richele), David (LaTara), Clintin, Johanna (Brandon), Carlyn, Jessica (Jim), Jacque, Matthew (Krystal), Leah (Michael) and Tony (Crystal).

A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the College Heights Baptist Church (2045 Church Ave, Alamosa, CO 81101). A burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Alamosa Cemetery (2200 State Ave, Alamosa, CO 81101).

Memorial contributions, in Marilyn's name, may be given to College Heights Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association.

“Larry was blessed to have meet his first cousin, Marilyn in 2016 and have her share the Decker family history with him. She gave us the tour of where the Decker family lived and more details of where his mother, Susie grew up in Colorado. I am confident Marilyn and Larry are sharing in heaven more stories and their gardening knowledge. Marilyn was a wonderful hostess to us on our visit. We also continued learning more of our family history over the telephone. Sorry for the loss of your mother.”
