He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Kelly and Joan Kelly; his sister Barbara; his brother-in-law Greg Bahr; his nephew Steven Bahr; and his great-nephew Reece Waugh.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Clair Nielson; his children, Kimberly Martinez (David), Brad Kelly and Celeste Fitzhugh (Dale); his grandchildren, Natalie Prestwich (Aaron), Megan Armstrong (Jeremy), Logan Martinez, Kai Fitzhugh (Shantel), Leah Fitzhugh, Tyson Fitzhugh and Brian Kelly; his great grandchildren, Marcus Prestwich, Luke Prestwich, Benjamin Prestwich, Mitchell Armstrong, Jameson Armstrong, Paisley Fitzhugh and Brinley Fitzhugh; and his siblings-in-law, Vicki Howes Campbell and Steve Howes (Butch).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the JAM Foundation a 501 C3 charitable organization to support a CARD (Center for Autistic and Related Disorders) in Yuma, CO.
