It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gus Ernest Lopez of Alamosa, Colorado, who passed away on June 4, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Felipe Lopez and Emilia Gonzales Lopez; his sons, John Michael Lopez and Matthew Lopez; and his brother Celestino "Tino" Lopez.
He is survived by: his son Philip Lopez (Lindsey) of Commerce City, CO; his stepsons, Travis Coffey (Mendy) of Colorado Springs, CO, Gary Coffey (Crystal) of Fowler, CO and Brandon Coffey (Angela) of Alamosa, CO; his grandchildren, Johnny Lopez, Max Lopez, Emily Lopez, Jeffrey Potter, Brittney Potter, Brooke Potter, Kaitlyn Coffey of Koby Coffey, B. J, Isaiah Coffey and Cathy Jo Coffey (Lucille Tubbs) of Alamosa, CO; and his sisters, Velma Fanelli (Frank) of Henderson, NV and Alicia Engel of Colorado Springs, CO.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
