It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carmel Rael (Alamosa, Colorado), born in Chama, Colorado, who passed away on October 3, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Amado Aragon and Lupita DeHerrera Aragon; her spouse Odosio F. Rael; her daughters, Doris Vigil and Jane Rael; her daughter-in-law Juanita Rael; her siblings, Julio DeHerrera, Joe Aragon, Amos Aragon and Vivian Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Mario Valdez, Erving Rael, Jr. and Juan Rael; and her great grandchildren, Odosio Thompson and Mikaela Rael.

She is survived by: her children, Louise Rael of Denver, Mike Rael of El Rito, CO, Eril Rael of San Acacio, CO, Erving Rael of El Rito, CO, Josephine Rael of El Rito, CO, Eli Rael (Kimba) of El Rito, CO, Leola Rael of Pueblo, CO and Norbert Rael of El Rito, CO; and her sisters, Della Trujillo (Juan) of Chama, CO, Helen Quintana of Pueblo, CO and Theresa Phelps (Marty) of Yuma, AZ. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
