She was predeceased by: her parents, Lashman Singh and Sham Kaur Bassi; her husband Udham Singh Purewal; her son Narinder Purewal (Wally); and her siblings, Kewal Singh Bassi, Nasib Kaur Samra and Gurmit Kaur Samra.
She is survived by: her children, Rashpal Purewal (Pirtpal), Satnaum Purewal (Ajit), Sukhcharanjeet Dhaliwal (Daljit) and Sukhjit Purewal (Geoff); her siblings, Joginder Singh Bassi of Kentucky and Avtar Kaur Dosanjh of Yuba City; and her grandchildren, Ajeet Phagura (Manjinder), Naubjeet Purewal, Jugjeet Purewal, Brandy Avis (Theodore), Anthony Courtney (Lisa), Aman Johal (Hardeep), Tarin Dhaliwal, Samata La Barth, Simran Purewal and Darshan Purewal. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
