He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Lee Battles; his parents, Jack Battles Sr. and Olive Battles; and his sisters, Imogene Walker, Etta Mae Wood, Juanita Ousley and Rosalie Leffman.
He is survived by: his brother Donald Battles (Virginia); his children, Ron Battles (Julie), Gary Battles (Marian) and Susan Battles; and his grandchildren, Sarah Tanaka (Rei), Heather Laurie, Derek Laurie (Kayla), Eric Battles (Kristen) and Samantha Battles. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
