He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick and Dorothy; his former wife Lucy; his daughter Cheryl Lucille Laird; and his siblings, George and Carol.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert True (Marcy) and Richard E. True (Ann-Marie); and his wife Lucille May Artman. He is also survived by his six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild.
