She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gabriel Giannini and Felice Giannini; her siblings, Albert and Eva; and her husband Joseph Harold Luigs. She was also cherished by 7 children, 5 sons-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law, 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
While raising eight children, Alvina worked for the Buena Park School District and Centralia School District as an Instructional Aide, working at St. Pius V school in Special Education and donating her services as a substitute teacher, eventually becoming a full-time teacher.
