He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Weldon Nichols and Elizabeth Belle Stark; his siblings, Dorothy McDowell, Pauline Kempton, Sherrie Gay Christensen and Francis "Ted" Nichols; his former wife Helen Lucille Cargill of Karl's Stark; and his daughters, Carolyn Phillips and Marilyn Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Lewis; his daughters, Kathryn Egbert (Stephen), Connie Shumway (Brent), Barbara Mortell (CR) and Jennifer McDermott (Mike); his sisters, Claudia Nightingale (John Sanger) and Charlene Kuhl; his grandchildren, Brea Nason, Todd Lisonbee (Kristen), Melisa Taylor (Dennis), Tamarrah Phillips, Greg Mortell (Cody), Jared Shumway and Natasha Bombini (Ryan); and his great grandchildren, Justin Nason, Kyle, Shelby Pace, Nathan Mortell, Aubrey, Stella Bombini and Bryson Davis (Jess). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
