He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Antonio Herrera and Tedora Mesa; his wife Nina Herrera; his stepdaughters, Irene Nunez and Mary Lopez (Jesse); his granddaughters, Gina Guzman (Chico), Renee Burrows (Scott) and Denise Fingado (Geoffrey); and his great grandchildren, Richard Avila Jr., Reina Nunez, James Nunez, Zachary Burrows, Adam Burrows, Ryan Burrows and Joshua Fingado. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
