He is survived by: his wife Mary Garcia; his children, Rachel Amaro Orozco and John F. Amaro; and his siblings, Tony Amaro, Mary Ruelas and Rose Olivo. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
