“8) If you wanted to, you could easily be a model. Why? So slender that everything looks good on you. You have that blend of unique and natural that good models have. 9) You have awesome taste in music. 10) Jaime, if you were an animal, you’d be the Pink Panther. Suave, Independent. Sense of fun. Mellow. Intriguing. Refreshing. Solid, uniquely you. 11) You make me want to be a more awesome truth-teller. 12) We should totally go trampolining someday. 13) It’s awesome that you get my humor.”

“14) Jaime Estrada — It’s awesome how you initiate dialog about the “elephant in the room” whenever there’s dissonance between us. I recognize the healthiness in clearing the air and moving on. I learn from you Jaime. But also, I feel valued, that our friendhship is being tended to — the opposite of a friend withdrawing, which is the thing I fear.. 15) It’s awesome how you’re usually right about my unhealthy behavior. Even though I don’t usually see it right away.”

“16) My sui generis friend, you’re awesome at making even small things be interesting. 17) My delightful friend, I still can’t get over how on that first night we talked on campus — how magnificently transparent you were about who you are. And you always are! 18) If we could bottle your awesome smile and warm hugs and sell it, we’d make a fortune. 19) I enjoy how you take a moment to process a new thing and then just jump right in.”

“20) Jaime, I am eternally grateful that you invited me to join your “group” that day in Communications class, so that I could meet you and get to know you. (I was not looking for a friend at school, but there you were!) 21) Remember how awesome it was when we went to that first concert together, and when we came out and walked to the car we were laughing so hard. You took my arm, and we talked and laughed. I loved that! 22) Nobody is as awesome as you at inspiring me to be myself.”
