She was predeceased by: her parent Frank Sumida; her former husbands, Fred Nitta and Frank Mito; her daughter Joan Otsuji; her siblings, George, Tommy, John Sumida and May Fujii; and her grandson Kyle Otsuji.
She is survived by: her son Dan Nitta; her daughters-in-law, Karen Nitta and Ron; and her siblings, Joey Sumida and Lily Yamashita. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
