He was predeceased by: his parents, John Banuelos and Carmen Garcia; his grandfather Natividad Hernandez; his stepmother Mary Banuelos; his stepbrother Chavelo Estrada (Chuck); his son-in-law Sal Valencia; his aunts, Juana Hernandez and Marcelina Toussaint; and his cousin Michael Hernandez.
He is survived by: his wife Lupe; his children, Cathy Alamillo, Gloria Valencia and Gilbert Banuelos Jr. (Annabelle); and his brother John Banuelos. He is also survived by several cousins; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Eucharist Church (527 Corralitos Rd, Watsonville, CA 95076).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Santa Cruz Hospice in memory of Gilbert H. Banuelos at 949 Disc Drive, Scotts Valley, CA 95066.
